I would have thought that DX11 isn't a good comparison because its a Microsoft-driven technology that they stand to make money from.....ergo, they have a reason to develop it.
What will they make from USB 3.0? Nothing unless you will need Windows 8 to use it......and I wouldn't put it past them TBH.

Directx is a software layer, USB3 under Windows is a driver layer, very different things. One is the result of hardware changes, one causes hardware changes.
It's an apples/pears comparison in my opinion guys.
Can't wait for USB3 to come soon. Linux is onboard already
