    whe it says LED tvs is that LED as the thing that produces the image or the thing that backlights the LCD panel?

    Just the back light. Using actual LEDs for the display is a completely different aproach and only used on massive commerciel display screens.

    Never heard of them but more competition is better for us the consumer so hope they go for it..

    I thought as much but i wasnt sure if OLED had been shortened

    No-one can produce OLED sets in that sort of size and quantity at the moment

    If that's what was meant in the article, you would see it practicly being shouted from to roof tops
