I'm curious to know what the GPU card being used in the test was and whether anyone actually had a picture of the physical card itself used to run these tests. There must be one somewhere.

I'm just a bit cynical after all the propaganda we've had over the last few months.

Just got my 5850 and not changing for a good while. Looking at this, it will make a great stupidly expensive card. But for us limited funds type will they beat ATI? probably not.

hmm. So wont beat ATI's card. Is rumoured to be pushing the 300w regulation, no confirmed shaders or speeds. Their "Pro" card already dropped from 512 shaders.

Guess i wont be getting a price drop or an Nv card. Guess i better keep saving for a 58xx card.

Can you also use a 5870 @ 1ghz in your tests because MSI Lighting and Gigabyte cards are soon to arrive.

Even if the card scores around 70fps avg. that would mean gf100 is around 15fps faster and the 5970 is another 15 fps faster. I do think the GF100 demonstrated was one of the fastest available i do not think the retail card can get avg frame rate that exceed 5970's potential.

ajaidev, welcome to Hexus. Enjoy your stay.

...Joe Average who is willing to shell out $150, and not $599, on a new card...
That's how much I'd like to spend on a graphics card (my last one being a £105 GF 9600gt) - but I wouldn't call myself Joe Average, thank you very much.
