    Haahaa, yeah.

The Archos 9 is close, but you need a separate Bluetooth keyboard, it doesn't clip on. I'm convinced someone will do one eventually.

A mate of mine had some RM thing that did exactly what you talk about Funk this was 5+ years ago too.

Clip on keyboard was flimsy and I personally thought would break if someone where to fart in its general direction.

The bold text explains it all.

The fizzbook spin is a convertable; the screen twists over the keyboard for tablet use.
It's meant for kids, and shows in the looks though.

I suppose I should really give one of the convertible netbooks a shot, my Asus R1F is far too big and heavy really, and only has pen input.

Re: News - Tablet market to grow to $4 billion by 2014

I'm pretty much a tablet fan, since I've been clamouring for bigger PDAs for about 3 years now - I've even gone on at great length on Hexus in the past about how much I'd like a netbook without a keyboard. I think Funk's right though: if someone can bring to market a tablet that then has a keyboard + touchpad base that it clips into it'd make the concept a lot more appealing to a wider market. The only technical issue I can see is that most of the weight would be in the "screen", so there might be balance issues with just adding a keyboard. But definitely a worthy concept.

I want to know where these people get their sales figures from... I assume they just pluck a figure out from where the sun don't shine and spray it with that magic Apple spray and then hope gormless fanboys will buy what ever junk is put in front of them.

The iPod sold well because there was a ready niche for portable music, Macs have sold well because they are decent computers with good idiot proof support and many people like them. The iPhone sells well because despite its short comings its still a good smart phone and has an uber sexy appeal.

The iPad has what? The Apple badge and performance that sucks, far to higher price tag, no upgrade-ability, sealed battery and its ugly... so obviously its gonna sell like hot cakes....

Macs haven't sold as well as they are suggesting tablets will.

Macs haven't sold as well as iPods or iPhones.... One could say that people have an absolute amount they are willing to pay for "shiny". There are of course always one or two that have the spare cash.
