Hmmm...lots of text above this post which I've only skimmed over.
My thoughts are:
If publishers did get a slice of 2nd hand revenue (by whatever means) does anyone really think prices of games will drop? No, me neither.
The profits Game/etc make on used are (IMO) obscene, they offer a pittance for the game, even less for cash & then proceed to sell it at £2 less than the brand new version.
That's just my opinion though as they're doing nothing illegal (well, we think)
If I could buy a pre-owned game for £1 more & I knew it would go to the devs (well publisher really) then I would although I hate to feed the publishers rather than the creators.
I feel that it should be the carrot rather than the stick, provide exclusive content to purchasers of a new copy (not pre-order, just ANY new copy) rather than cutting out something pre-owned buyers have to pay for. I guess you could say this is actually the same thing but I think there is some difference & anyway it's not my problem to sort out!

Well, nobody is forced to sell/buy to/from GAME, and the fact that they are making so much money from it shows that there's a very large and popular market for 2nd hand trade. And naturally they're capitalising on it. Good for them, I say.

ACII = £22
Bioshock 2 = £22
MW2 = £26
Nothing spectacular but will be useful to get Gamestation to match (plus you can prove prices easily unlike Game/HMV who won't print anything out for you)
Yeah it's all store credit.
