Conversely, some of the media outfits that buy/sell/deal in programs, reckon that Sky could well end up making more money. Listening to a discussion this afternoon and one dealer was saying that he could sell far more of the Sky Sports content now that the price was a little lower as there are numerous TV stations outside of Sky's usual market that would just love to buy that content.

I do understand the problem with sky and microsoft, I just happen to believe that in both cases the respective regulators went too far. With sky I (now, on reflection) think opening up sales to other companies was fair enough, but imposing price restrictions is a really bad thing and that should have been left to the market to decide, not the regulator. This is just my opinion of course and its fine for people to disagree.

I know that this sort of regulation goes on all over the business world (used to run a business, boh i know it goes on..so many headaches trying not to fall foul of lots of it) but that doesn't mean that I have to agree with it or think its the best solution. Perhaps its because I am more driven by protecting the businesses themselves rather than the consumers, which isn't really how the vast majority of people see it (as ofc, most people, myself included, are consumers not suppliers).

Anyhow its done now. Maybe(hopefully) Sky will appeal and then we'll see wht happens!
