My USB stick meets performance requirement apparently but I've not use dit for anything and don't really plan too.

Putting a new HDD in the PS3 is a bit of a ball ache aswell
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

The PS3 gives you complete access to the HDD (I think the contents is encrypted) and it's not like it's plagued with hacks compared to the 360 is it - have you been playing MW2 on the 360 lately?
Contents are in a proprietary format on both, as with the Wii also. Only difference is the PS3 HDD is not in a caddy so you can upgrade it, even then using an SSD is pretty pointless.

You are talking crap with the PS3/360, both consoles have major exploits on MW2 from modding save files/games and using hacks, just look at lag switches and the javelin exploit. I didn't buy MW2 and have no intention to as it's too short a single player game and not worth the premium, might rent it but no intention of buying (or pirating)

Re: News - Microsoft brings USB storage support to Xbox 360

To be honest the only purpose the extra USB storage has for me on the 360 is to backup my profile and game saves. So if that 120GB HD does ever fail on the 360 at least I have all my saves backed up so I don't have to play through all the games again to unlock certain parts of them if I decide to go back.

Once a month, copy the saves from the HD to the USB stick and then put the stick on a shelf and keep it safe.

Lag switch can effect any console/PC game. And that's my point - BOTH consoles have problems, if what you said were true before there would be less problems on the 360 because of the caddy but that simply isn't true at all...

Lag switches, no save modification needed
Javelin exploit, no save modification needed

Both are hacks on the game mechanics not code...

I think you are here x

Re: News - Microsoft brings USB storage support to Xbox 360

Javelin exploit was fixed like a week after it was discovered...
I have no I idea what you're talking about, this is my point: Both consoles have exploits, both consoles get hacked, the PS3 isn't affected any more than the 360 so you can't argue the 360's caddy and custom firmware helps at all - it's just an excuse for MS to sell overpriced hardware. You can access the files on a 360 HDD by just plugging it into a PC the PS3's HDD looks like a blank drive to a computer so it's actually harder to modify stuff on it.

    X My point is here
You are in the next chapter somewhere mate...

if we can't store games or game content like download maps for the games what is the point?

Re: News - Microsoft brings USB storage support to Xbox 360

I don't understand MS's recent changes of policy on this. A couple of months ago they went and banned all unofficial 3rd party memory sticks (which allowed for more than 512MB) of storage, then wait a couple of months and allow any USB memory stick (up to 16GB).

It's good to see a loosening of restrictions, but odd how they've gone about it.
