Oh yes, and CS5 will use a 'meger' 24GB of HDD space to install, aparantly it 'wont' install on an SSD, for whatever reason. Well done with the sane development and more efficent use of compute resources, chaps.

edit: oops, the system requirements say *external* flash storage, I misread that.. although that in itself is a bit ambiguous, they need to be clearer about what that means, but SSD panic over.

Something I learnt on day 3 outside of uni was that code doesn't have to be good, elegant or even competently written to be VERY useful.

I've not tried GIMP recently (last 6 months) but it just didn't offer me the same ease of use, now those words ease of use are not something I often would apply to photoshop as I'm sure I can't use one twentieth of its features.

(that's not to say one shouldn't stride for software engineering ideals thou)

Also won't install on SSD? Got a link that might effect my plans to get some training in photoshop and buy it!

Yup, but it sure does help a lot, especially when your battery isn't depleted after 20 minutes of work.

Oh don't get me wrong, even the rather excellent lunch I had still hasn't cheered me up as I wade through this slippery eal of Python code, completely un-commented, with multiple classes in stupidly named files, which are week-bound attached via COM interop, how the hell do i know even the type?! One might almost think the dev who wrote it made it intentionally hard for anyone else to understand to keep his job..... Almost.

So I really hate bad code.

But as a consumer, between the two choices of an extra 10-15% of battery life on my laptop, and a few GB less of footprint vs a slightly better spot heal brush, or something that lets me get my work done 10% faster. The mess will win.

And that is also why i've yet more functionality to trace out of this monstrosity
