Well if they hurt the brand? If you had some really offensive subtitles up, some people might think less of downfall because they don't understand its a parody?
Maybe thats what they are thinking!

Good things only lasted so long... There will be something along to replace it soon enough.
Personally, as long as those paradoies didn't rip the crap out of the original film I'd say it was a good way to promote the film with zero effort from the IP holders.
Anyhow, roll on the next set of parodies
Yep, i'm one of them.
Saw the parodies. Found out what film that was from -did watch the original film on youtube - in 13 parts.
BOUGHT the film on DVD - its was that good.(Its only £5)
Also bought 'Sophie Scholl - final days' after watching on youtube. (linked from'Downfall' on Y.T)
Two films I would never have bought otherwise.
Fegeline!!!.....Fegeline!!!......Fegeline!!!
ooh mines number 8 in the playlist Or atleast it was but now its blocked. Had like 250,000 views on it too.
They're deffo missing a trick. if I wasnt for the vids I wouldnt have watched the film, which was surpisingly good.

Utube video has now been nlocked.
I think that the parodies were quite good. I liked to watch them a lot! Plus it was free promotion of the movie. Why doesn't the company understand this? Can't understand this on my part. Like someone stated above, having seen Sophie Scholl on youtube and bought it afterwards, it does not harm the film industry if there are excerpts or parodies on youtube but rather supports them. This is real irony indeed!
Apparently complaints had been raised about some inappropriate videos, where people where been slanderous or libel against person(s) or companies.
As such the studio didn't want to be associated with such things, so rather than case by case review each one, and putting themselves at risk by condoning such things, they removed them all.
I reckon it was apple, all of this started after the apple iPad jokes were out after all.
