No chance. I wouldn't play the game enough to make it worthwhile.

I'm in the No camp, firmly.
My most played multiplayer games remain Civ4 BTS, Diablo 2, BOTF, Guild Wars, Battlefield 2, SW Battlefront 2, all of which are free to play and I can forsee me still playing them in years to come.
If the oldest 1 of these (BOTF) was a monthly fee of £2, i would owe them £264 by now.
I'm commenting on an internet forum. Your facts hold no sway over me.

Haha no chance! First they set the RRP £5 higher than other games because they obviously think they're better than everyone else, then they charge a tenner a piece for two new maps + two they copy/pasted from CoD4 (not that I bought either, and I got the game cheap) and now they want a monthly subscription? The campaign is far too short, Spec Ops is fun but also short, easy and lags with even low pings that work fine on other games. As for multiplayer I don't even know where to start, and on top of that, it also copes terribly with moderate ping times, has no dedicated servers so what the heck do they want paying for? No, they need teaching a serious lesson but unfortunately there's far too many fanboys who would give their right leg to keep playing it...

They better be giving the game away for FREE if they expect us to pay to play it.

Saying that, I would not pay to play a game after having to fork out ~£30 a year for a gold account on xbox live. If they do this, I'll end up playing Avatar online (don't knock it...its surprisingly good fun atm)

I wouldnt be surprised if they try to up the disk price again by a further 5 quid with black ops.

Completely agree with watercooled.I was looking forward to buying both map packs when MW2 first came out as I was dazzled by the graphics improvement from COD4. But the prices made me think otherwise. If I ever want to play the map packs, I'll get the GOTY which will most probably be in December and include the map packs.

All I can say is that COD's countdown is ticking.
