For me to upgrade, I want a minimum of double the performance of my old GPU - preferably 3 times. The same goes for a CPU/motherboard upgrade. Anything else is just a slight improvement and not worth it to me. I expect i'll not be even thinking about replacing my 4870 1GB for another year.

Almost a year after release, the 58xx cards still sell for MORE than at launch. Based on all previous generations where Nvidia could compete on price, the 5870 should now be selling for <£200. I fully expect a 6870 to retail at £399, so as to keep all cards at their currently inflated prices. An Nvidia die shrink can't come soon enough.
