Wouldn't care if they didn't remove the option to disable search suggestions/query suggestions/whatever they're called in the process.

I prefer to search for what I've searched for previously, not what Google thinks I might want to search for.

Might give Bing a try - it does actually allow the disabling of search suggestions.

I'm quite a fan of bing - particularly the 'search history' and pretty pictures on the front page

When I used Google i also used Yahoo, now i use Bing i also use Google because no search engine gets it right every time...

Quite a cool feature, although it doesn't work with iGoogle yet so I won't see it until they implement it there.
