How is this different to the thinkpad x100e (other than updated specs)?? Seems like competiting products.
As far as I know, the x100e is targeted slightly more towards the enterprise user, while the Edge series is more for the small business user (when it comes to Lenovo, I don't think we can really say anything is targeted at the home user).
Otherwise, you're spot on though. Updated specs and a new chassis are the only difference. Having said, the x100e got pretty scathing reviews because of the older (Congo?) internals, so this is certainly a step in the right direction.
Engadget already have a review and they seem pretty impressed, but it is based on Intel parts, not AMD.
So I guess I am expecting a X101e that is not pure plastics then with Intel processors so that it fits more into the X series...looking forward to that!
Eager to see how the new AMD processors do in battery life and heat rather than graphics power.
Check out comparison of the two Edge 15 laptops. Gives a pretty good apples-to-apples comparison of how the two platforms:

Doesn't talk about heat, but as far as I know, Intel still wins there. However, the Nile platform is much better than Congo was, and won't turn your laptop into a space heater.

Nice machine, but how much do you want to bet the AMD Nile version is going to get rapidly upgraded to a Bobcat/Zacate platform at CES in the New Year?
