On reflection, I'd say "tamper-resistant" and "tamper-proof" are two different things, the latter implying there's no way in without destroying the screw.

As somebody else said, pentalobe screwdrivers will be on eBay in no time... doesn't look like they'll be hard to machine.

My HTC Desire is screwed together with Torx screws, if anything i'd say it was an oversight on Apple's part if they put normal screws in to start with...

Yep, I wonder what Apple's stance on that would be. Wouldn't surprise me if they'd try and stop it.

They wouldn't be able to really, unless eBay were somehow forced to try and ban their sale, there will always be a few Chinese sellers selling them.

Indeed, and good luck attempting to patent a screw head. Even the USPTO would have a hard time allowing that.

Edit: I mean look as that stupid USB extension cable that came with someone's keyboard on these forums a while ago - who even thought of doing something so pointless?

Sorry I'm going off on another apple rant.
The USB extension was mine (well works) and this is another nail in the coffin of why I wont purchase any apple kit.
