In terms of looks (and I realise looks are last on the list of requirements for most here), am I the only one who prefers the iPad over the iPad 2? Those tapered sides look dated in comparison to the older one.

Apple priced iPad at £429 in the first place and no one could even come close to it. Surely it must be a reason for that?

Maybe because they're one of only a handful of devices on their respective platforms, so can also charge a premium?

It'll start to get interesting when the hoard of Android devices start coming out properly and competing with each other on features and price.

Love how they drip feed features into the iPad to make people keep buying the damn thing. The two cameras sucks, the screen resolution sucks, the processor sucks, etc.

Yep, old one looked like iphone4, new one looks like iphone 3G(s)

I was ready to upgrade my existing ipad pre-launch, but see nothing much new in this one.

My time as a dev is worth ~£100 an hour.

£289, as a company purchase (ie no tax) less the VAT is still TOO DAMNED EXPENSIVE for what it offers me.

Its not about the high ticket price, its about what it offers for the high ticket price.
