    Mmm nude PCB.

It is expensive but people buy the likes of 990x CPUs for about the same price, and TBH a card like this would make more sense than the former for gaming. Still way beyond the peak of the price/performance curve though!

thats actually not too bad a price considering 2 gtx580s will run you around £700-800, nearly 900 for 3gb models

Not an awful lot of nudity going on. The average burqa-wearing human shows off more skin than that PCB.

I wonder if they'll come up with a standard way of supporting huge, heavy cards like these? Quite a bit of stress is put on the PCB and you can see even relatively light cards flex slightly because of it.

    Was only a nerd-joke?

I guess that's what the plate on the back is for - adds a bit of rigidity.

Still, you'd want to remove this card if you're taking it anywhere!

Yeah, I know. Countered a rather poor, dry one of my own. Sorry the humour didn't translate. I should have added a smiley.

a lot of high end cases now have support systems going down the middle of the case to hold the top of big cards in better

i just pay a midget to stand in there and hold mine up

I use a few cable ties around the PCIe power connectors for support usually, mainly to counter the weight of the cables pulling the card down.
