Phone, Kindle, MP3 Player, dSLR, Headphones pretty much covers it. Nowadays I take my Kindle too. Besides the camera, everything charges from the same USB cable. I rarely take my laptop unless I actually need it. Kindle provides 3G everywhere for free if I'm abroad is fantastic for Google Maps incidentally, phone takes care of WiFi related stuff and the MP3 Player provides the entertainment.

I do have a basic Garmin GPS logger which I take, but normally that's only if I'm going walking and want to double check my mapreading skills or I want to log where I've been for fun (or for geotagging pictures after the fact).

I guess, I can never travel without my iPhone. It keeps me updated with my friends activities and it helps me get connected with the Internet without using laptop or computer...and it is easy to carry.

Depends on what I'm doing and where I'm going, but I've usually got my phone, iPod Touch, MiFi router and iGo multi-device charger. If I need a laptop to get into the remote access system at work I'll take the Samsung Nc20, otherwise I'll take the iPad. I've got things like the camera, Kindle, noise-cancelling cans etc. that will be taken if I think I'm going to need them.
