yup its odd, considering the fact do you need that high resolution on such a tiny device... its quite depressing that our monitors below that 27" range cant manage it, makes me question the legitimacy of these claims.

Most likely LG will release some high res monitors this year or next year if its the case though!

Won't you just end up having to zoom in and out to read the text at that resolution on such a small screen?

They can set the DPI at whatever they want, surely? It will just mean incredibly well defined interfaces, far beyond the point at which anyone can tell the difference I suspect.

I may be talking nonsense, but I suspect it would be most useful on websites - zoom out and you can see the entire site with ease, and then zoom in a little to the bit you want. Even so, I get the feeling that it must be far beyond what the eye can really see, at least in terms of a computer interface.

I agree that the 4S with dual core perhaps should have been "5" - maybe Apple reserve new version numbers of changes of case?

Consensus is that the "5" will either have an upclocked version of the 4S' processor, or it'll jump to quad-core. Strangely enough these are the same options on offer for the Samsung Galaxy S3. Couldn't comment on what that'd actually mean in practice on the "5", since it's not a phone that I have on my list of possible replacements for my current one.

Career status: still enjoying my new career in DevOps, but it's keeping me busy...
