Fibre is already available in my area. According to BT Infinity, I should get around 30Mbs.

I did have BT Infinity at my old house where I was estimated to get 30Mbs, but the engineer did a test and said I could get the whole 40Mbs.

Whats their traffic management like? It all seems pretty reasonable and would overall not be a great increase in overall cost for us so im considering it

Re: News - Sky to launch fibre broadband in April

Almost forgot to mention that all FTTC contracts have a minimum length of 12 months(Plusnet + BT are 18months) and they are not transferable between premises; if you move home, even after your contract ends, you have to pay the activation fee and take up a new 12 month contract; the service cannot be transferred between premises, it has to be cancelled and then ordered again.

Something I found out before ordering my FTTC service. Not happy about it but I am not going to say no to a 10x improvement in broadband speed.

Oh, FTTC... let me know when it's FTTP, then I'll be interested.
