Well there is the Xim3 for the 360:

Check out the videos of people owning the field when using one of these. I heard good players regularly get accused of cheating they seem so much better using mouse & kb. Also a microsoft employee confirmed that the reason they never enabled xbox vs pc multiplayer was because when they trialled it the pc players completely pwned. Which seems to back up the anecdotal success of this device. I don't have a 360 myself but if I did... this would be the first peripheral I'd get!

Using a keyboard and mouse when others are using a pad is cheating.

There were a few cross platform games, universe at war was one of them, and it was very hard for someone playing on the xbox to beat me on that game, not impossible like, but hard, and I'm not even close to the best rts player out there.

Well, if Nvidia would buy out AMD...that would spell the end for alternative graphics solutions at hsi point and mean that there is no real competition.

Regarding the success on ATI/AMD vs Nvidia...we do not know if AMD aided ATI design after the buyout and alternatively what AMD+Nvidia could have come up with. Its a guessing game and in my opinion the fact that the market concentrates on very few players is not good in the long run, as competition keeps prices in check and fosters innovation.

I still come from the age where you had loads of different manufacturers, such as the 3dfx, S3, Nvidia, Ati, Kyro etc. which meant prices had to stay tight rather than allow huge markups if one manufacturers chip did not perform as expected.

-> Still awaiting the return of the saviour of 3d, 3dfx

If nVidia had bought out AMD, then ATi would still be the competition no?

Re: News - AMD wanted to buy NVIDIA, not ATI, claim former employees

ATI is subsidiary of AMD, thus if AMD would be bought by Nvidia, they would buy ATI as well.

Would be funny if all the old companies would unearth and present new solutions, but I have not heard of S3 or Kyro for ages now.

It will be interesting how things will pan out, especially as AMD increased its acquisition and might be forced into quite the interesting arms race with Intel, who has quite the deep pockets and at the moment the technology advantage as I can see.
