Nothing I can't do some other way...

    Which ROM did you use?
This is the custom sense 3.6 ROM i used, forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1468683 , with this kernel forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1256668
The two developers responisble are amazing, and the phone really flew when installed!

After i got bored of the sense 3.6, i moved onto a sense 4.0 ROM which was then the eventual kicker to upgrade to the One X
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1546731 - again, use the same kernel as above

That said, I would have thought that the majority of HOX users would have been on carrier-locked handsets, so they won't be able to access (I'm guessing) this new update. At least until their carrier deigns to allow the update through*.

(* that's why the Apple way is superior - updates go directly from OS maker to end user. It's really about time that Google tried to cut out the carriers' interference)
Thats why i always get unbranded handsets, at least then i'm only at the mercy of the manufacturer, and not wating on the operators. In this case the update is with all the operators for 'validation checks', so god knows when they will release it

Yeah i totally aggree with you on the apple update thing, goodle really does need to stop the carriers from meddling, especially as the only thing they they bring to the table is delayed releases of updates and laggy bloatware.

Actually, one thing about this - it's bad of HTC to do that mod - even though they probably meant well. What I will give them kudos for, is that they appear to have now realised that the owners don't like their change and have moved quite quickly to ship a suitable fix.

Career status: still enjoying my new career in DevOps, but it's keeping me busy...
