Re: News - Browser tax levied upon Internet Explorer 7 users

If you're on IE7 you'll be flooded with the option to upgrade it naturally. Point is, if you're on IE7 you either don't want to upgrade to IE8 &/or IE9 or you're incapable of using it therefore use Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, or Opera. That's not a cheap shot it's common sense. For example: Windows XP can't run IE9 but it can run all the other options flawlessly.

Great stunt, it's working really well for them, even on the other side of the world people are talking about it.

Is it possible that the browsers they linked to have affiliation options, so if users click, download and install from the link the company makes a few pennies while other browsers might not be offering this option?

Re: News - Browser tax levied upon Internet Explorer 7 users

As a web developer, I know the efforts required.
Intersting that they took the choice of STILL developing for IE7 & try to TAX the usage of it, rather than the easier, simpler & cheaper option of just NOT develop for it period.
And as for the tax, I'd like to get them to prove the full costs of development to justify the cost of the tax.

Are there any older versions of the other browsers they have decided to tax?
    No?
Hmmmmm, wonder if a lawsuit would be pending.
