Nice enough psu, dandy little aluminium case for it, shame about the cables not being individually sleeved..
Quoth the server... "404"
Is there any need? Really?
I'm thinking quad PowerColor HD 7990 Devil 13s ... I think Hexus should do a competition with one of these PSUs and four of these graphics cards :-)
Maybe if you already had a Devil 13 then won another one in the Hexus competition...? Two of those plus a load of other heavily-overclocked high-end hardware could potentially rocket you over 1kW of power draw. I suppose the other use might be to run a high-end GPU folding farm. You could stack 5 or 6 water cooled GPUs into an appropriate motherboard and not have to worry too much about powering them all...
EDIT: love the idea of quad Devil 13s, but they only have 1 crossfire connector so I'm afraid that's not gonna happen
For a folding farm it might be better to split the GPUs into individual motherboards (or 2 each), each with a smaller PSU, put them next to each other in/on Antec Skeleton cases and run a huge watercooling loop around the whole lot, gives a small kind of redundancy and would look delightfully daft on the desk!
This could be a PSU for the monster overclocked gaming rigs, 2xCPUs, 4+ GPUs, chilled water etc... it's the only use case I can think of that can't simply be split up and parallelised across multiple machines. I haven't spent that long thinking though... so there probably is more...
Moar power!

Imagine the electricity bill.
Only if you actually drew that much power from it - it doesn't constantly draw 1600W from the wall, although it's likely to be terribly inefficient down at realistic loads, especially idle.
Wow... You guys are just like all the 690 tards. "Yeah? Well I have 4 690's!"
*MAJOR FACEPALM* NO YOU DON'T!
We only have support for a MAX of quad GPU's at this point in time! That means, MAX OF TWO DUAL GPU CARDS! So no matter what, there's no way you are going to be running 4 devil 13's, or even 3! The 690 hs two 680 GPU's, then 7990 has two 7970 GPU's Thats 4 if you go and get two. Thats all you get! Why do you people always get hung up on this subject?
Anyway... I was really happy to see such a monstrous looking power supply, until I saw that it's only 80 plus silver, and the sleeving on those modular cables is worse that a 80$ PSU I have...
I won't be recommending this overkill peice anytime soon. I would much rahter go with the new AX 1200i from corsair, and even that is well enough for anything you could build today.
overkill PSU..
Well, you could run four dual-GPU cards in a PC, just not in SLI/Crossfire. People do that sort of thing for f@h/Bitcoin/etc. But I expect the vast majority of people who buy it would be better off with a PSU with half the output.
I guess if my kettle filament blows I could use this as a short term replacement.
