A law forcing all companies to upgrade their software to latest versions!

Office 2000 for a 'high tech' company is not high tech!

Precisely this - I would love a 'normal' (i.e. Windows 8 x86) touchscreen laptop with a high DPI IPS screen. It is amazing that these are so rare on the market & I am sure the superb screen quality is partially why people love tablets.

Higher PPI IPS screens, like 22-24" 1440P would be around right for my viewing distance and not impossible to power with an AMD 7950.

A return to the days when you could overclock via the FSB/BCLK call it what you will without having to shell out extra for a chip that hasn't had fuses blown to remove features that are common to the core.

Re: Features - QOTW: What I hope to see in 2013 is?

4K monitors and displays starts showing. All laptop monitors and desktop monitors to start using higher res:1600x900 should be mainstream for laptops and 2560x1600 can be found on 24" monitors as well. Also, any 2560x1600 monitors prices should be way lower by then.

I'm surprised to see we haven't had much progress for PC monitors this couple of years. Manufacturers are really slacking off and too much of a coward to start reaching new heights. Apple (not technically Apple though) could cramp a much higher resolution into their Macbooks and iPad so there's really no reason why other manufacturers can't do it.

    P/S: BRING BACK 16:10 monitors!!! I HATE 16:9 for a monitor!!

Cost is king i'm afraid. I worked for a large multinational that wouldn't upgrade from IE6. The reason was simple, a lot of the sales programs didn't support IE7. The cost for upgrading in excess of £20Million. Upgrade nope, your here to work not browse.

As for what I'd like to see. Not sure if there is anything I would like to see.

    Better GPGPU performing cards.
As a few have mentioned, better montiors 27" 1600p IPS for starters.
Higher baseclocked CPUs, it's about time we saw 4+GHz common at stock v.

The successor to SSD. A non-volatile storage technology that does not have any of the downsides associated with flash. A true high performance replacement for the traditional HDD.

    Oh wow, this!

I have a double capacity XL battery for my phone, which makes the battery life about right in my opinion Can't imagine going back to 'just about a days usage if you don't actually use it much' standard batteries in phones nowadays...

The other thing i'd like to see, as other people have mentioned, higher DPI screens in PCs/laptops.

Theres some really nice density screens in tablets/some macs. But for a PC? nope.
The industry seems to have set in stone that all 11-13" laptop screens must max out at 1366x768, and almost all 24" desktop monitors must be 1920x1080 for example.
Why can't we have the resolution you get on 27" screens on 24" screens for example?

The next XBox would be nice! With full backwards compatibility with the 360. Games like Fallout 4, HL3, BF4 and Doom 4 on the next XBox too.

A world wide ban on high gloss plastic except for kids toys. It just looks cheap. Ditto for transparent plastic.

I would like to see monitor manufacturers discontinue all gloss black plastic products.
