Re: Corsair Obsidian 900D chassis talkthrough

Great looking case, but I would have liked to have seen a platform, like on the 800D, separating the Power Supplies area off from the rest off the interior, because the back of one power supply, even a modular one, is ugly enough without having two with hundreds of wires coming out of them. Also when you put an optical drive in the bay it doesn't sit flush and it spoils the looks of the front. These are the only two things that I would like to see implemented to this awesome looking creation from Corsair.

Re: Corsair Obsidian 900D chassis talkthrough

I completely agree. But there is a platform separating the PSU from the rest of the interior. Do you mean the actual door? Which can be a little transparent? Because that could be fixed with a decent power supply with good custom cabling, like the CXM, HX, AX or AXi series....

As for the optical drive i couldn't agree more. But i saw a video on youtube, before the release of the 900d, George Makris (corsair's lead case designer) mentioned that with a case like the 900d most people would probably stealth it considering they were going to buy a £300 case! I've stealthed mine on my 800d and it looks awesome. Hard to do, but completely do-able.

however i have to agree that if corsair had considered that it would be even more awesome!!!

They are builders cases only. If you like small cute looking cases get a bitfenix prodigy. If you want a case to water cool your components, want to add multiple rads, and multiple GPU's, this case is perfect. Its perfect for modding, perfect for building and you could probably sleep in it too!

I very much doubt I'll get that lucky ...... Shame really, as I would have loved to have been able to put all the Aquacomputer Aquaero 5 & Aqualis gear I'm reviewing & writing guides for into the 900D...... Ssssiggghhhhh!!!....

Re: Corsair Obsidian 900D chassis talkthrough

I now have the 900D.... ... Need to get some Acrylic tubing & fittings, Then begin putting all the Aquacomputer/Aquaero gear into it ..

Really do like this case & a fair amount of thought has gone into it from Corsair, It's well built with some very nice touches to it with regards to the lower door-ed compartment & adaptability for radiator placement e.t.c... Very happy chappie

Re: Corsair Obsidian 900D chassis talkthrough

Thanks Greybeard .... I absolutely love this case & has to be one of the best I've ever used. Fantastic build quality & some great little design features that have been pretty well thought out. That's from just from looking at the case without putting a build into it yet mind & when I do start my build I'll post my thoughts & findings in a more indepth way .

I' still need to get some Acrylic tubing & fittings sorted out yet & I still need to do a fair amount of work yet on setting up my Review & Guide web site. When the site is done (about 2 to 3 weeks) I will do a full review & build log on the case then ...

I'm Excited & very much Looking forward to getting both done & see where it takes me...

    all the best

    Norman
