£40 for online gaming ?
All good stuff and then this.
This video was funny :

Well, it's not perfect but it's not 'just online gaming' that you get for your £40 (ignoring the fact you have little other choice if you're looking at XB/PS4 only). Have you seen the level of love for PS+ ?
I think the time spent on the games I've had this year alone were 'worth' well more than a measly £40.
Good job not reading, my mention of 3D was in reference to TV features. Then not reading my later praise of Vita - which is incidentally the only console type device I actually own! You'll not find much fanboi in me - I'm a bit of a tech slut, I like Windows, I like Linux, I have a Vita but I'd still buy an XBox if I wanted one...
For anyone who's interested, the stereo camera's going to cost £44 and a controller £54. The hard disk size has been confirmed as 500GB.
The hard disk is also replaceable unlike the XBone. So far Sony are doing everything right.
An Atlantean Triumvirate, Ghosts of the Past, The Centre Cannot Hold
The Pillars of Britain, Foundations of the Reich, Cracks in the Pillars.
My books are available here for Amazon Kindle. Feedback always welcome!
Well sony have definitely beat microsoft , microsoft are trying to grab the casual gamers but no casual gamer will buy a system that expensive.

When I heard the announcements I was ready to buy the PS4. However, I only bought the PS3 to game with my brother online. Something I typically only do once a month or so. Paying £40 for that would really irk.
Also being a pc gamer, I really hated the PS3 online gaming experience it's just so restrictive (no choice of servers to play on, you can't rent your own server etc) in addition you can't have a private chat, all you can do is block the audio from others so you don't listen to them. What's up with that??
Personally I still wouldn't trust Sony with my credit card or bank details. They got hacked, kept it hidden and then continued to be hacked across their various sites for how many months. I trusted them to begin with but they threw that away with their attitude to security. Giving Sony my bank details and allowing them to set up a direct debit from my account. Nope, not just yet.
In the interest of full disclosure, I'm not an Xbox fan and have never used one. Don't think I've ever seen one other than in shops.
Honestly, this is ****ing insane from Sony. So much love for them right now, and all they did was keep in last-generation features. Microsoft really ****ed themselves over with the XB1. I won't be buying a PS4 day one, I'll definitely buy one when a PS4-only game comes (looking at you God of War). I'll never buy a XB1, that's for sure.
I hear some grumbling about the fee for online. Look up PS+ and what you get. Easily worth the money.
Sony you did good. Microsoft...pfffft.
Edit* Also, the pricing is very nice.
PS4 overtakes Xbox One in Amazon pre-order charts
Just looking at the difference in the number of posts between this and the Xbox thread it would seem the PlayStation is well ahead.
Another thing which occurs to and concerns me about the Xbox is what happens when the console becomes retro, will you not be able to play said games anymore when they turn of the authentication servers off.
