Re: News - Sony details official PlayStation 4 technical specs

My current PS3 is lacking in USB ports. Why stick with only two on the PS4?

You misunderstand, I don't want rear ports over the front, I'd rather have both - the front for convenience and the rear for tidiness.

I've personally never owned a playstation though this is tickling my fancy. I heard a rumor that the WiFi on the PS3 was a little crap, is that other peoples experience and if so is there anything here that would suggest an improvement?

Right sorry - 'over' was the wrong word - 'as well as' would have been better. Just trying to think what kind of peripherals you'd want attached and I can only think of controllers, and I can't see why you'd want them on the back.

USB sticks for backup, receivers for unofficial controllers and/or keyboards. Also charging docks for controllers - they would be better on the back. I would want some.

Well on my PS3 the play TV thing stuck out the front just clutters it up... there are uses for rear ones I guess

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to add USB ports via a USB hub. The PS3 supports it.

You probably can, but that doesn't change the issue

It's simple .. Cost ..remember 1st PS3's. 4xusb , cards reader and the cost was higher

Re the fan noise guess some of you must have forgotten about the 1st batch of xbox360 they sounded like a 747 taking off

My release day PS3 is still going and fans are very quiet

No mate you've been seriously misinformed. My PS3 that's upstairs in my house with at least 25 feet of distance and 3 rooms between it and my router always picks up a perfect signal. It VERY rarely strays below 95% signal strength and is 100% the vast majority of the time.

Any disconnects from PSN or issues similar is down to PSN in my opinion but PSN is leaps and bounds ahead of what it use to be like in PS3s first year or 2.

But PS3s wifi is superb. It has been for me anyway.

Good specs for a console and the price is right. The question now is will Microsoft lower the price for the Xbox One to remain competitive? I saw the list of "exclusive" games for it and was not impressed.

Getting a bit fed up of UK prices not converting. I can't work out whether we are being stung an extra £100, or the other countries are being treated in kindness.

US prices don't include sale tax (VAT). The pound isn't worth as much as it used to be.

You want to work out the relative price (based on national means) in some countries.....it would make you think we are getting it cheap.

It's not just UK, but if you want to change it it's simple - just don't buy a console until it's priced lower.

+1 with the same architecture across the consoles and PC it seems little point to buy a console, the smart money is not to have "exclusive games" if i were games company i would want all the markets not just one...
