Re: Features - QOTW: Has free footy convinced you to switch to BT Broadband?

Nope - Only reason I switched was due to lack of other options now that o2/be has been swallowed by sky... The consolidation within the ISP industry is scary.

Edit: I got a home hub 4 and ordered last week. May or may not replace it with a generic model however as I don't like owning a router I can't fully config myself and i'm a little worried BT will have locked it down.

Edit 2: I doubt i'll even watch BT sports - would rather save £2 a month...

Not really interested in football, except maybe the world cup.

I'm not interested in Football but I was really disappointed to hear that BT has won the rights to broadcast MotoGP. It looks like motorsport is generally moving towards subscription based services in the UK with both Formula 1 on Sky and MotoGP now on BT. I won't sign up to any subscription based service to watch sport out of principle so BT and Sky won't gain. Motorsport will also lose because they have lost a viewer and therefore a part of their audience base. I will still watch the few F1 races that are shown on BBC but I won't be paying to watch on any other platforms. Many of my friends and family feel the same.

I'd rather remove a testicle with a rusty spoon than switch from Sky fibre to anything BT offers. Any matches I can't watch on sky sports the internet takes care of just fine.

These exclusivity deals should be outlawed until everyone has a true choice of provider. While everyone (almost) can get Sky TV the choice of Broadband is limited depending on location. I get 125Mb with Virgin but can only get 4Mb with any other provider. Not much of a choice really!

Re: Features - QOTW: Has free footy convinced you to switch to BT Broadband?

I'm afraid there's nothing BT could possibly do to get my business. They've always offered a crap service, and I doubt it's any better now.

You only have to watch their adverts, which in translation seem to be saying "Our service is so crap we can only big up the router!"

    Says it all.
