Snap! I was just about to post this.

However rating a heatsink by it's max supported TDP is just plain wrong.

Yes I know coefficent of heat transfer (W / deltaT, or thermal resistance deltaT / W) will confuse most people but it's an accurate figure to use.
A 180W tdp cpu could throttle at 80 degrees or 120 degrees (or somewhere in between) chassis temperatures can also vary significantly (20 to 40c) and that's a massive difference in thermal delta's and thus efficiency required. (worst case max of 40c, best case max of 100c)

It's the reason why intel specify a max case temperature for a cpu when using a stock heatsink.

Edit having gone to the website they do specify it's thermal resistance of 0.12C/W which is actually really quite low and gives a deltaT of 21.6C @ 180W.

Personally i'd like to see the heatpipes arranged like spiders legs to give max cooling in the centre, the problem would be getting all the heatpipes to meet up (you'd have to bend the ends vertical which will leave a small gap in the bend radius) rather than this directional style layout. Then again haswell has a large aspect ratio
