News - Download the Windows 8.1 public preview version today

UPDATE:
Microsoft has now made available .ISO files of the Windows 8.1 Preview installation media so that people who aren't already using Windows 8 can have a play around with the updated OS. Go here to download the .ISO for the 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows 8.1 in your preferred language.

Installed 8.1 today, spent most of the time working in desktop mode, I'm not fond of the "modern ui" it has an unfinished look about it and there's no "aero" features in 8.1 so it's windows look plain compared to win 7 with "aero" enabled, the search feature works well and all the apps are available from a pull down menu. I'm quite happy using this preview version, it's free. But the "modern ui" still feels like a bolt-on that I don't need or want, so there's no incentive for me to buy windows 8.1 when it's officially released later this year.
