£90 for an additional controller? That has to be a serious ass-covering exercise surely?

If they expect an outlay of £420 + (3 x 90) = £690 for a 4-player game, they have to be on a different planet.

    Imitations will probably be £15........

aren't the 4 player games going to be based around Kinect, because all the 4 player games are going to be replaced with dance dance revolution lady gaga edition.

Don't forget the £50 for the game too. Brings it to a fair old sum of £740...

The listed controller price for the XBox One is ridiculous. Do they want to stop people playing games together? (Yes, probably, let's see if the next Forza has split-screen local multiplayer or not).

Potential purchasers need to factor in this cost. The PS4 with an extra controller will be over £100 cheaper than the XBox One with an extra controller.

Look's like it'll be the PS4 for most then!

Outrageous prices for more controllers! For some reason, they think its right to make the controller an extra £40 over here compared to US users, who can buy them for $75?!

In my opinion, the PS4 also looks better than the XBOX One.

They really need to sort their marketing out over there, far far too expensive.

Re: News - Xbox One and PS4 launch dates and prices in Toys R Us listings

People actually think it's going to be £90 for a controller?
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

Re: News - Xbox One and PS4 launch dates and prices in Toys R Us listings

No way in hell am I paying £500+, or frankly, anything like that, for a games console plus a second controller.

Frankly, I'm not even likely to pay what Sony want for a PS4.

So unless street prices drop a lot from those official prices, a pox on both your houses.

So ..... back to PC gaming for me, and thanks to Ferral for pointing me at GOG and their DRM-free games. They may not be the latest titles, but what the hell, they'll keep me amused, and keep most of my money in my pocket and out of the hands of money-grabbing US corporations, like MS (yes, you can still shove Win 8 MUI where the sun don't shine, and the likes of EA who can similarly stick their DRM, and especially Adobe who can take their subscription model for Photoshop, fold it until it's all pointy and sharp corners, and also shove it).

Between you, you guys have managed to save me a small fortune in convincing me not to buy your products.

Imagine all those lovely upgrades which you could make to your PC instead of spending daft amounts of cash on these consoles

Well, personally speaking, my PC already does everything I need of it perfectly well, and there isn't much upgrading I want to do, or not if it costs non-trivial money anyway.

But that reminds me, I ought to get around to putting the SSD back in, and actually booting from it, not leaving it sitting on the desk, where it has been for about 6 months.

Bit unfair listing the xbox one controller with the play and charge, it will be £50-55 without and you can use batteries or a £3 thred party play and charge kit.

I may get the xbox controller if it supports PC, but can't see be rushing to buy either console.

It's lucky for Microsoft that they are releasing first. They will at least get sales from those that will not want to risk not getting either for their kids for Christmas.

From what I have been reading there should be more xboxs than PS4s produced by then too, but that could change.

I'm a massive gamer; PC, 360 and PS3 But my PC needs an upgrade and these new consoles are pretty pricey. The PS4 isn't too bad of a price range, baring in mind how much everything is these days, and I know that prices will go down eventually for both console's and the controllers. At the moment though, I wouldn't be rushing to buy either of them.

IMHO, PC gaming is where its at right now and the consoles are only getting worse (my opinion).

I could upgrade my machine. It's a generation out of date, being a Q6600-era system, though it's a slightly faster chip than that. I could certainly increase the RAM and the video card was decent but not top-end .... several years ago. I just don't see the point, because other than maybe a RAM upgrade, it does everything fast enough for my needs.

I also was a serious gamer, but I got so fed up with the implications of DRM that I haven't bought more than a game or two for PC in several years. I will not, for a start, buy any game requiring Steam, or an internet connection (because the machines I use for gaming aren't net connected). And I got so fed up with looking at games, researching what appealed, only to find in tiny print that it either needs an internet connection or Steam. It's why I bought an XBox 360 in the first place.

That said, no way am I paying £500 or more for a new XBox (and I'd need a second controller, so at announced prices, that's what it'd cost).

So, after playing computer games for a very long time, I'd more or less stopped playing PC games until a friend introduced me to DRM-free games at GOG.
