I've had another 2 vertex's die this month. They can't make 2 years. IF OCZ go out of business I'll probably raise a glass of beer.

Lucky you!
Personally I was never caught out by their SSDs because of the bad experience I had previously made with their PSUs and RAM.
A few years ago Ebuyer had Stealth XStream 400W on offer for £25 or so and I bought two. Used one for a built for someone and of course it promptly went bad. When I raised an RMA, Ebuyer just refunded me the money without even wanting it back. Which was good but I did have to source a different supply for the built out of my own pocket. Still that was only a 50% failure rate.
I had also bought a two sticks of RAM from them and they both went bad. 100% failure rate. RMA to the Netherlands (they took their time too) and the replacements did last; but since then I mainly buy Crucial since if I have RMA their stuff I only need to send it to Glasgow which is far more convenient and quicker.
The Stealth XStream 400W was an CWT built supply whereas your 750W ZT is built by Great Wall. Obviously for PSUs who actually made it (the original OEM) is very important.
So it wasn't just their SSDs which had a bad reputation. With the bad reputation they built up with poor reliability, poor RMA, bait and switch fiascos plus the more recent 'creative' accounting thing, I think anyone who wants to buy them would be wise to just grab their patents and to never actually use their brand.
I can imagine the quality it will reach the Toshiba/OCZ SSD when aquired by Toshiba. This buyout is indeed well played for toshiba if its going to happen
