Take a look at Okami and Pandora's Tower on the Wii. Both interesting games and kept my entertained for a good while. Resident Evil 4 was also brilliant (great controls). An original Wii might be the next games console you need!

Plus, I've been asked to point out, with the needs of clothes storage etc, the typical teen doesn't have the space for more than one device. So a games console that can also play movies and music makes a ton of sense for them.
Also great for people in small flats, students, in fact generally those without the cash to buy gaming PCs, tricked out TVs and home theatre setups but want a lot of features for less money. A basic 42" TV + XBox One costs less than my current TV alone, nevermind all the other tat attached to it... student me from 10 years ago would be all over it... probably.

It baffles me why neither console has launched with a blockbuster title (Halo for XBO, Unchartered for PS4) as neither of them have a game at launch makes me go wow I need to have one of those. They're overpriced and with the fiasco currently surrounding EA and their overpricing for digital downloads I'm not interested.
For me XBO is to focused on being a media center than a games console (the lower graphics performance compared to PS4 is the key indicator for me here) but some of the functionality (like being able to resume a game at a speific point) is pretty good, along with the voice control novelty.
For me it's going to boil down to who drops the price of the console and the game first as currently they both seem like unfinished products considering the price

I guess they have learnt from previous lunches that programmers need time to get to grips with a new architecture, learn its nuances and actually finish polishing a title for release. I just find it a bit odd this time around as programmers had one helluva foundation to build on this time due to hardware choices.

MS did better at least getting Forza out (not my cup of tea but it is a very popular exclusive).....I am sure there will be a surge in sales near release dates like halo and uncharted, which makes me think this generation might be quite lucrative, even with such generic non-inspiring launch titles both have sold well.
