Following on from that, probably the item that has been of greatest benefit to the most people - and something that made a big difference to me - corrective lenses fitted to a wearable frame that clips over the ears! Amazing technology that enabled me to se a blackboard in the classroom, and live life more safely!
I'm sure those with hearing difficulties would say the same about hearing aids - wearable active technology (glasses tend to be passive)
hearing aids are items that have benefitted from miniaturisation and increased digital processing power giving better signal processing and leading the way into cochlea implants.
But I'm coming to the conclusion that wearable technology is nothing new - its been around for over 100 years in various forms.
