I'm really hoping DiRT 2 is fixed soon after they do DiRT 3. I still believe that DiRT 2 was the stronger game and i'm sure there are a lot of other people apart from me who still play it a lot.
Pleased to see Red Faction Guerilla will have it stripped.
Dawn of War 2 is concerning though, I haven't completed the original campaign yet never mind the expansions.

I am hoping for dead rising 2 need to finish it some day.
I have never really had a problem with G4WL but not really upset to see it go.
Codemasters need to think about their customers for once. I have all 4 of their games listed in red and haven't played any of them yet. I hope THQ sorts DoW2 as well. That's a cracking game and i return to it often.
How will that affect games I've bought from Steam like SSFIV:AE? Is it just about MS's online store, or will it affect the games that asks you to sign into G4WL account at the start of the game (like SSFIV:AE)?
There are multiple points of integration with GFWL, so it's very much a per-game thing.
Game uses GFWL for achievements only (e.g. Fallout 3): no major change, just use an offline profile
Game uses GFWL matchmaking for multiplayer (e.g. Dawn of War 2): unplayable in multiplayer ever again
Game uses GFWL DRM (e.g. Dead Rising 2): uninstallable forever
So if I reinstall dead rising 2 before the cut off it should still work and just multi player will die (no big problem).
With that I am sure I could find other ways to play a game I have paid for since many manage to play it without paying.
So the only way then I can play the games I've paid for after this change, if the publishers don't release an update to do away with the need for G4WL, is to use some third party crack ? Basically running a pirate version of the game that I paid for.
Well that's just great isn't it.
Proof if ever that DRM does more damage to legit gamers that it ever does to stop pirates.
Here's hoping they do a good job on Dark Souls, lack of multiplayer on that would be crushing..
For anyone interested, Steam are taking retail CD\DVD keys for Batman Arkham asylum and Arkham city in exchange for Steam key's. I actually hope they do this for all GFWL games, it seems like the only fair way to treat people who have forked out for them.
I've been working through GTA IV and its expansions recently due to this - I have the game as a standalone and a Steam version and it looks like you won't even be able to save the game once GFWL shuts down. Come on Rockstar (though they really do seem to actively hate the PC community, so not holding my breath).
