Pretty much - as you said you can easily add anything else you want. Much better than (not being able to) subtract what you don't want.

Yeah, what I'd do to be able to uninstall my LG G2's contacts app (which doesn't sync correctly) and install google's standard one (or any other company's but the big G's is the one I'd want)...

Love that their govt and society in general is so tech orientated that these things actually get discussed and passed into law!

I wonder if anyone has looked at the performance difference between standard Android and the bloated Android on most smartphones, would be interesting to see what performance hit there is if any.
There is a 'performance hit' after you install apps onto a clean android device (moto g - lost 500 points on antutu) from what I've seen, well if I take notice of benchmarks anyway lol, real world doesn't seem any slower.

I'd love to see this rule taken further where it's optional to have the bloatware installed on there when you buy it... removing bloatware doesn't always leave a clean system.

Similar regulation is required in EU as well.

    Their mouth to Gods ear.

Wish I could say that bloatwear was the reason that I haven't got a smartphone, but it's not, I'm as cheap as chips.
