Oh man! I used to love Homeworld II and have never played Homeworld I.

Can't wait to see what the reviews say for this, but in the meantime I'm extremely tempted to play through HWII again. xD Come to think of it... I'm not 100% certain I ever found the time to finish it... I can't remember the end! :O

Whatever the case, this game was always impressive and beautiful, even back on the old family computer I was playing it on. I can only imagine what it'll look like on modern kit.

I really hope it is great, i don't mean to be pessimistic but i don't have huge faith in Gearbox (lets hope i'm wrong) I hope they dont add tonnes of dlc for ships etc... Really hoping it's great!

Yeah same. If they keep it nice and open for modding instead of locking it down for DLC that would be even better. xD

I don't think Cataclysm was made under the same roof as HW and HW2 but I do agree a remastered cataclysm would be nice, I still have all 3, if these guys live up to the task they have taken on, it's quite likely on top of having my money they can have my sole and first born lol

I've seen it mentioned that a) the source for Cataclysm was lost when Some Company took over Some Other Company, and b) the license for Cataclysm was never held by Relic/2k/whoever it was and so wasn't part of what Gearbox acquired.

So it doesn't look as if there's any hope for a Cataclysm remaster I'm afraid .

If we are lucky the remastered HW games will be a mod friendly as the first games were and someone will make a fan mod conversion for Cata.

Loved this game, campaign type which flows from one stage to the next stage. Unlike games like starcraft, you have to rebuild your base each stage, do the research again, too much repetitive.

Looks like this should be available by the end of the year - http://www.loadthegame.com/2014/04/1...able-end-year/

Re: News - Homeworld Remastered Collection announced

And the collectors edition is going to contain a mothership!!

    http://www.polygon.com/2014/4/13/561...inch-spaceship

Steve Gibson of Gearbox announced the ship's inclusion in the Homeworld Remastered collector's edition at the developer's panel at PAX East today, saying that Gearbox is spending "an irresponsible amount" on the ship. Gibson said they expect the collector's edition of the game to be in limited supply and that they hope to break even on the expensive bonus item.
It really is shaping up to be the 1st 'collectors edition' of a game I'm going to get for a long long long time.
