yeah this killed the idea as far as im concerned. I had been quietly following it with curiosity but now that its associated with facebook its just another thing added to the filters
least they get to go have there custom display panels now and move the product forward,
The Computer Assisted Engineering and Architecture aspects I can see, but are there other major usages for VR? Ah wait, yes, VR ... adult activities ... nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more squire*...

Joking aside I can't really what's in this for Facebook (especially given the torrent of abuse this announcement generated) unless they're either going do a Facebook simverse like Second Life or, and I think this a lot more likely, they're going to "encourage" Oculus supporting products to link into Facebook, the same way that you're supposed to get an "enhanced gaming experience" by signing into Google Play on Android games.
And no this won't persuade me to get a Facebook account - I really just can't see an benefit for me.
Well one benefit is surely if they think this company is going to make money, they'll now get a slice of it?
