And that's it really, I mostly just use my tablet these days to watch a couple episodes of Futurama at bed time, and occasionally if I need to sit and wait for someone in the car I use Kindle to read a little.

Things like keyboards, cameras etc are obviously subjective but my current main apps would be...
TouchPal X keyboard
Podcast Addict
Textra for SMS
MX Player media player
Chrome browser (other Google apps like Maps etc are a given ofc)
AppRemover
Camera ZOOM FX
Dropbox
Fancy Widgets
Falcon Pro for Twitter
gReader for RSS
QuickPic image viewer
Screebl Lite screen orientation sensor
TuneIn Radio
ES File Explorer file manager
Hope one or two of those will be of use to someone.
feedly, for keepingupto date with rss feeds.
ebay and amazon apps are useful for searching on phone.
camera zoom fx for its photo options.
im+ for IM connections, useful for allowing multiple accounts in one client
photo editor+ for editing photos on phone.
xbmc remote
Nova launcher for sure, it's a no brainer.
AVG Wifi On/Off it's great for saving battery
Local public transport app
VLC player
Mediamonkey is a great music player. Especially good if you use mediamonkey on PC as it links together seamlessly.
I couldn't live without swiftkey, and the more you use it, the better it gets with predictions. It is worth the cost (especially when on sale), and now they've merged the phone and tablet version, it works well across any device you have.
I do know everything, just not all at once. It's a virtual memory problem.
I don't think there's anything that every user should have. Most Android devices come with the basic stuff, and user needs vary a lot.
One app I'd suggest is Amazon Appstore, because most users can find an occasionally attractive Free App of the Day.
My top 5 apps would have to be:
MX Player
AirDroid
Chrome
Dropbox
gmote
Kii - swype type keyboard and does Japanese as well free. Useful If you need it.
