I don't often buy too many games and tend to get hooked on one or two at a time - I'm betting 90% of my playtime be from 10% of my games.

I have no life
Still haven't played Half Life 2 and Counter Strike!!!!!!!
Like most people - I have many titles untouched because they came part of a bundle and they were either old games I've no interest in playing or games that I've already done elsewhere.
kind of true but for me as a paying customer i buy them only if i get friends to

I know in my case it is most bundles, which have caused this.
Either way I am a happy gamer so who cares!
I have 150 games on my account, which is less than I thought, particularly as some DLC downloads are listed as titles so I think that takes about 16 titles off right there, of the remaining 134 titles some were freebies with pre-orders or included as Humble Bundle deals and I will probly never play those, and there are about 30 to 40 titles that have no times recorded for them, but some of these were completed before Steam started recording the stats for these.
Problem is, my Steam library shows many of my games as unplayed, but I have played them extensively on previous Windows installs - the stats haven't carried across (e.g HL2 Ep1, Ep2, HLS DM, HLOF, even Ricochet!). It's possible that these figures don't work in the same way, but otherwise there may be big variations.
For me, it shows games not played - 59%. It also shows total hours played as 250 - I know I've put more than that into CS 1.6 alone.
Woooah, just seen from these stats pages that my Steam account is ten and a half years old. That makes me feel ancient!

As said before Humble bundles must have had a bad effect on my account, however I am pretty sure I did not pay that price for all my games as I bought most of them in sales, in packs (I am however a sucker for DLC and have all the DLC for games i have not even played.). I would like to thank Steam trading cards for making my unplayed games ratio not as bad as it would otherwise be.

Owchies
I have a fair few unplayed games (due to buying them waiting for when i upgraded) or having keys for both GOG or Origin and Steam (bugger all games on origin, just the humble deal) Also i have games from the humble etc... where i only wanted 1 game but they came as 1 code. Tbh though i still havent completed Hl2...
Lost coast shouldn't really count, seeing as you get it by default and it isn't really a game.
Still, this is pretty much the state of my account too, most of my unplayeds come from humble bundles.
why doesnt SteamDB know who I am?
I have steam name
