But whatever the situation is, I'm really interested in reading about it! I'm completely holding off building another desktop computer until Amd have something I want to buy! Thanks.
Seems I was wrong, cannot find the exact article I read but according to this: http://wccftech.com/amd-readies-steamroller-based-a47300-athlon-x4-860k-840-athlon-x2-450-fx8370-am3processors-q3-2014/ the Athlon X4 860K is for FM2+ whereas I remember reading it was for AM3+.

Too bad, Steamroller could have actually been a nice way to see the AM3+ platform go. Nothing ground breaking, but at least it would give it reason to exist until the next big core from AMD comes out in 2015/2016.

As for holding off, I'm on the same ship. Firmly waiting with my X4 960T until either DX12 and Mantle gives it a new life or AMD finally ships something worth buying.

Agreed. While die hard AMD fans might wait for 2015/2016, people who aren't die hard and are looking to upgrade their AMD CPU's might switch to Intel if they don't have an AMD option.

Thanks for the link Yeh those ones don't look too exciting. Unless I underestimated them! I'll keep an eye out for benchmarks though just to see!

Well that's kinda obvious I already did that when there was nothing significantly better than my 955 available back in 2012. But this time round, I'm holding out for Amd. I'll just get a Ps4 to play about with until then But this is really the problem with Amd. I wonder how many they've lost to Intel by not keeping up. I wish somehow they were able to put up a better fight!

Any sign of what the new chips are or when the prics are likely to pass through to channel? The usual suspects still seem to have 9590 in the £220+ range

Re: News - AMD set to slash FX CPU pricing on September 1

OCUK dropped their prices over a week ago and has the 9370 on pre-order. Scan has dropped some prices plus they have the 9370 listed as well. Amazon has some good prices at the moment with the 8350 at £116.99 plus they seem to have applied the price drop to their own stock. I buy a lot of computer components from them now as they are usually cheaper than elsewhere, have free delivery and should anything go wrong their customer service is good.

Even at £175 I think the 9590 is still not worth it. Better to get the 8320 or even the 8350 at Amazons price and overclock it.

AMD FX 8350 has just gone up to £125.99 on Amazon. I was just about to buy one too

Yep, and unfortunately the 8370e that I was considering appears not to have materialised today as hoped

I put the FX 8350 through Flubit and they've given me an offer of £109.41. It says a saving of £7.58. This is a good enough price for me
