Me too - although I've got to wonder that if that's the Z3 Compact Tablet, is there going to be a non-compact version? If so, then count me in as interested. I'll be looking for a replacement for my Note 10.1 in a couple of months and at the moment the leading contender is an NVidia Shield - mainly because I want portable gaming and Samsung's weird setups are really starting to bug me.
Shield was top of my list but I have been put off by complaints of the plastic surround cracking after just weeks of use.

Going back to the Z3c size. I'm also not jumping at it, 4.7 is too big. 4.5 is Max in my opinion and if you are going to go bigger than that, you have already sacrificed ease of use with one hand so might as well go massive (ooh err!).

The actual phone dimensions are pretty good though...

This video actually put it into perspective a little bit:

The phone is actually the same size... probably should have read the specifications!

I really like the Z1C size I might be tempted by this, although i have got used to having a £110 Moto G that isnt the end of the world if i drop and break it.

I like the Sony phones, especially their water proof features, pity they feel the need to keep releasing models as it completely devalues the range!

You can pick up the Z1 now for roughly 270 pounds new! The Z for even less! I paid 530 for them brand new when the first launched

Re: News - Sony launches Xperia Z3, Z3 Compact and more

The Z1 Compact (Z1c) hasn't lost that much value, still above £300 now. Shows how much demand there is for smaller phones, strange that Apple has seen fit to ignore them.

I'm looking to get the Z1c through giffgaff at £333 because I don't trust the Amazon links for £310. There are other places selling Z1c at £350 and above though which is close to what it launched at from what I can remember.

    Take a look here: http://www.expeditelectronics.com/sh...bile/sony.html

Doesn't look like a legit site but good reviews on AVForums.

Those reviews really put me off - almost all by new members to the forums, which looks like a classic shilling exercise.

Er, hasn't apple been exclusively focused on smaller phones until now? Even now, the iPhone 6 has identical dimensions to the Z1c.

About 9mm longer and 2 mm wider, nope not the same. And yes those mm matter to me; had a Moto G (that I broke) which was ever so slightly bigger than the 808 PureView I had before it (less than 8mm in it for length), enough for me not to get another Motorola with similar dimensions, am now going for the Z1c because of battery life and size. The only thing I liked about Apple iPhones was their dimensions, except the thickness, now there is nothing I prefer about them.

Why not the Z3c I hear someone ask... because of the screen and reduced battery life using it. Z1c has ~12 hours of video playback while the Z3c has about 10 hours of video playback; I use maps while driving so it makes enough of a difference to me to get the older software and hardware for that small amount of extra battery.

For me the perfect size phone would be around 128mmx65mmx12mm give or take about 3 mm for each dimension. I prefer the feel of thicker phones; Motorola phones have a curved back which was lovely to use. Thinner phones don't feel so nice in the palm of my hand, where they spend most their useful time.
