I don't mind TOO about the price, let's say <£180, but for the love of god give it a better reference cooler.

128 bit cheapo card I would pay £99.99
(IMO) They're cycling through new models too quickly - this applies to both Nvidia and AMD, and while I fully acknowledge that I need to upgrade from the old 9800GT - and that's only because I'd like to play the DX11 content coming out - I'd prefer to not buy a card that's going to be 2 generations old inside of a year.
And, for the record, while it may not be the most demanding game ever, even on my current setup, I'm averaging 38-45fps @1920x1080 on Dragon Age Inquisition. Granted, my setup was top-of-the-line at one point, but that point has long since passed. I no longer make enough money to keep up with the Jones', let alone catch up to them. Give me a card that will be more than adequate for 6 years, and I'll consider it. But it certainly won't be $200US at the low end for this card.
Id say around the £150 is a good spot and if it offers up some good performance like the 970 and 980 have done I might be upgrading when it comes out.
$190. Anymore and I'd rather pick up an R9 285.
A 3GB 280 can be had for £150. Might use 80 watts more, but that's the right price for a few more FPS vs less VRAM.
Under £150 - my GTX660 cost £135 with a free copy of Metro:Last Light.
Even less - last month my mate bought a decent R9 280 for £135. However expect the power saving of the GTX960 to be marketed as a premium feature.
For people's information my SFF PC with a Xeon E3 1230 V2(Core i7 3770),mini-ITX case,16GB of DDR3,GTX660 and multiple drives consumes at most 200W at the wall.
The mate who has the pre-overclocked R9 280 in a mini-ITX system with a Xeon E3 1230 V3(Core i7 4770),16GB of DDR3 and multiple drives still sees well under 300W at the wall when gaming.
That's the thing any reasonable 400W to 450W PSU is really enough for any modern £150 graphics card.
Valve was running Geforce Titan cards off 450W micro PSUs.
I paid £130 for a 6600GT in early 2005, £130 for a 7900GS in late 2006, both mid-range cards, but then went for a £234 HD5850 in mid-2010, by far the best purchase and longest lasting of the most, so for me, I'll probably pay that bit extra and get a higher range card next time. A GTX960 should be around £150-£160 on release and no more though for basic card, maybe they can get away with up to £180-£190 for overclocked higher memory versions, but that'd be pushing it, since it's supposed to be 'mid-range'.
£180s about my limit for a card but could do with replacing my 660ti 4gb
$220 to $230. the 970 had a lower price than the 770, so i guess itll be slightly cheaper than thr 760
Right now, I'd pay £0.
My current card, about 5 years old and I couldn't tell you what it is without looking it up, beyond that it's ATI, is doing everything I need of it. So I see no advantage to a new card that would incline me to pay anything for one.
If I had a justification for an upgrade, then what I'd pay would depend on what the justification was, and how much I wanted it. But I don't.
No more than £130-£150. Especially given there is a 960Ti expected to fill the (huge) gap between GTX 970 and GTX 960, and it should (not will) be around the £180-£200 mark.
Just checked Amazon, two 280s, Sapphire for £140, Club3D for £145. If you need the VRAM over the FPS, and that's just starting to happen, and considering the 4GB version will probably be ovepriced (look at 4GB 760s), unless they match those prices I'll assume they really messed up and should have gone for 192 bit, 3GB. I was really looking forward to this card, but a 280 is looking like my next upgrade in all honesty, unless the price is really right.
The texture compression should help I suppose.
Depends on what the performance of the GTX 960 turns out to be as whether any other models are coming.
As the card that's the next step down from the GTX 970 I'd like to pay around £180 one with all the boxes ticked (quiet cooler, higher VRAM, good clocks) but it wouldn't surprise me if it was closer to £210-220.
No more than $170 USD. IMO this is an entry level card, albeit a very good one.
