Not sure if serious, or really that arrogant.Microsoft blog calls Cortana "The smartest AI in the universe
I think you'll fine the AI that's currently fleecing your pension pot is much more advanced.

Ah more advanced predatory spyware, just what everyone needs? If only Microsoft were trustworthy!

Be Careful on the Internet! I ran and tackled a drive by mining attack today. It's not designed to do anything than provide fake texts (say!)
I might win the lottery jackpot, every week for a year, too .... but I wouldn't advise holding your breath. Putting that another way, no 'she' might not become part of my computing life, near future or otherwise.....
Even if you don't have a Windows Phone with access to Cortana she might become part of your daily computing life in the near future. Cortana is touted as an important way in which users will interact with Windows 10.
Or a third way .... come back, MUI, all is forgiven.
Pastymuncher expressed how I see it too .... if I can't turn Cortana off, completely and utterly, it's a Win10 killer for me. And IF it can't be turned off, then MS have learned nothing from the Win8 backlash.
Are you familiar with the Privacy Controls for Cortana on WP8.1? They are really rather good, and a feature very lacking on Google Now or Siri.

That claim was the result of a Bing search perhaps?
Anything standout on those PC's? To be honest I looked at the Google privacy controls and they seemed to cover the bases. Not that I'm likely to get a WP8 phone anytime soon, (although prefer that to an iPhone), but background would be handy for the missus, who is a Lumia owner. (and very happy with it).
It's a personal assistant like Google Now or Siri. Whether that is worthwhile is of course a personal preference.
I thought the quote was meant to describe Halo's fictional Cortana?
I trust MS no more or less than Google, Apple or any others. On WinPhone you can switch off all of Cortanas personalisation and raise the privacy settings. If you do so she becomes an entirely optional way of accessing web search using voice commands.
They'd have to be insane to do that. That said, I've never known Windows ship with an application you can't disable.
