I'll have to take your word for that - I get 5-10 minutes into a sea combat and then the game freezes. Damned shame because it looked pretty good on the whole, as in I think I must have played through a lot more than I did with that US-based travesty.
Hmm. I never had any game breaking bugs when I played it. I got it when it first came out too.. It got better with patches, loads better. So I would've assumed it'd be running pretty good by now. You have patched the game, right? Maybe there's something up with your setup or something unusual about it that the game doesn't like..

I got Black Flag towards the end of last year myself, very late to it but it ran fine. This was before my new build so it was running on a GTX 650 with an A4-5300. It didnt run perfectly certainly but with everything knocked down to low my FPS was pretty stable and reasonably high. Black flag was always iffy with particular hardware combinations though so who knows.

Za0/jag272. Thanks for the replies, although I was kind of hoping for some road-to-Damascus moment. Strange thing is that the land-based stages work absolutely fine, so I'm wondering if it's something in the water modelling that's on the fritz. Time to fiddle with the settings again.

Annoying because it's the only game that I have this issue on, stuff like Crysis3, Bioshock Infinite, Far Cry 3:BD (and all the previous AC games!) all work fine.

Re: Assassin's Creed: Rogue to be first PC game with eye tracking

I stopped playing AC games when I encountered issues with Revelations. I got to a point in the game where it crashed going into a cutscene, Ubisoft claimed it was an issue with my PC even though exactly the same thing was happening with the game on 4 different PCs. In the end I gave up trying to get it to work.

Oh man, I remembered something. AC games use that Nvidia gameworks stuff don't they? Some of that can cause horrible problems with Amd cards. There was a setting that I had to completely disable in the settings in order to get the game to run well. It may be what's causing your issues. I forget the settings in that game.. Try looking up some tweak guides or threads to do with problems on Amd cards!

    Nice thinking!

I'll go speak nicely to Google and see if anything comes up. Be good if this was the answer because, like I said, BF looks like it could actually be a pretty good game.
