Between two devices, separated by clear air in a non-congested area, no multiplexing. What's it going to be like when multiplexing many clients, in a city centre? I have a feeling this is one of those headline grabbing numbers that is totally misleading.
For example, how does this compare to the total bandwidth of a 4G mast in central London, multiplexing many hundreds of simultaneous clients? And also where the hell do they suddenly expect multi-Tb backhaul (on top of a building) to magically appear from in the next few years - that's a serious piece of fibre. Cell masts are hard limited by the speed of their wired connection and the equipment at the other end in the provider's data centre.
Marvellous, at 1Tbps I could use my entire data allowance for the month in under a hundredths of a second.

Yes please! I'll take some of that considering my wired broadband connection is currently 0 Mbps down and 0 Mbps up!!
My God they cant even get 4G working properly and I live in the middle of London so sorry don't believe it, tell us about it whjen it actually happens, through London you are lucky if you can find any where that you can get 4G on EE, Three or O2
I use O2 and Vodafone and get more dropped calls that I can ever remember in the past 10 years so I would like them to work on getting what we have working to a better standard before looking towards 5G.
This! It is the story of technology. When 9,600 baud modems were fast, and 56kbaud modems were experimental, they got the same reaction. Same with adsl and broadband.
This is a technology demonstrator, it will be a while before it is mainstream, but it is the direction the technology is going.

My broadband speed - 750 Meganibbles/minute
should be spending the money on improving the infrastructure for the whole country. I know people who can only get a maximum of 0.5mbs, it's diabolical.
Meh. Most of the country cannot even get reliable H+ let alone 4G.
