Re: Batman: Arkham Night for PC sales suspended

Seems most issues are around AMD GPUs......how ironic as it was ported from PS4/XB1

Speaking to a mate last night and he was playing it on a lowly 560Ti. Said it was perfectly playable.

So, as long as you don't have AMD GPU or SLI enabled, it appears to be fine (minus the loading pauses which can be mitigated with an SSD).

Which explains why I didn't think there was much of a problem with it on day 1

Hopefully as they fix all the issues performance will increase for everyone, I did find it odd that a GTX780 could only select "Normal" gfx options.

Really looking forward to this game being patched, it seems like it could be great. I'm still a little miffed about no Harley DLC for Nvidia promos though. If it was another character or just some skins I'd be less annoyed.

I'm quite fortunate that this runs pretty well for me, I havent' taken the 30fps cap off, as tbh it doesn't make that much of a difference. only annoying bug I have is that in engine cutscenes are rendered strectched on my UHD monitor, although gameplay is fine. Thats even with SLI on.

Re: Batman: Arkham Night for PC sales suspended

Looking at the some threads people even with GTX980,GTX980TI and Titan X cards were complaining about general performance with Gameworks and glitching(missing effects),plus R9 290X owners too.

It seems to be rather random though - certain people with AMD and Nvidia cards are OK,but others have issues.

An example is when PCWorld looked at the game:

    http://www.pcworld.com/article/29404...retty-bad.html

The craziest part of Batman: Arkham Knight is that when it does run, it seems to run fine. In addition to running it on that Big Bertha Titan X system, I also ran it on Asus' new ROG gaming laptop, which is outfitted with a GeForce GTX 980M. It ran just fine, with frame rates on the single card in the 60 fps range. That's at 1080p resolution, mind you, but it makes it even more puzzling that the game ran so poorly on a desktop PC with a single Titan X.

Bottom line: WB Games made the right move in suspending sales.
Its this variability in performance which is the problem and why the game sales have been suspended.

Its like they rushed this game out the door without proper QC and QA to meet a financial deadline of some sort.

Re: Batman: Arkham Night for PC sales suspended

Good, its a horrible port that in kinda makes Unity look OKAY!

Issue isnt just AMD its on Nvidia again, funny how yet another Gameworks product comes out with glitches and poor performance... says it all really! How Nvidia were happy with the performance and 'the way its meant to be played' is baffling. Knew straight away it was bad when in the menu all I could select was low or normal graphics on a 7950 ha

Its funny how the ingame benchmark runs at 60fps but the actual game runs at 30fps, how things like this got past anyone is odd. Ironforge or whoever they're called did city which if I recall was also bad, either they are just given a poor timeframe or they lie to WB and rocksteady how long things will take (by quite a margin). Glad Valve brought out the steam refunds because now big AAA games cant get away with this on the PC platform, at the very least I can be content with a 1:1 in PC v Consoles but it must not be limited on FPS thats all, the problem with Batman is the poor performance locked framerate and the fact the graphic effects are MISSING when compared to consoles which is impossible, you shouldnt have missing graphics on a pc version .

    Steam refunds for all
Hopefully it gets fixed soon but right now I have the witcher which is keeping me occupied, thats a true game!

I am not surprised when many big pc releases turn out bad considering that they are being released also on the new next gen fail consoles. Got to make MS and Sony happy and guaranteed companies are getting bribes to have this accomplished. Forget that performance was bad on pc did you see the graphical extras that were on the PS4 version but were missing on PC? What is that extra 10 GB the PS4 version had over the PC version?

Re: Batman: Arkham Night for PC sales suspended

Well the latest news is September at the earliest for the patch......which I have to say is quite shocking

Although I've now sunk around 30 hours in with less issues that I get with most new releases, so as usual, YMMV!

I'll never buy any GameWorks games. Although I might buy a copy on steam just to send it back
