Pity Intel don't get in on this ... sure they could spit out Core i5 Iris Pro chips cheaply enough given their process prowess. Nice side-effect: they'd be fast enough to enulate anything in nintendos back catalogue...

Well it gives them a bit more money if they get the deal for it.

The Fury Nano will be good for small systems.
What do you think the price of the Fury Nano will be in the UK

Phew, you got my good side!
While it is true that more Wii's sold, they were considerably cheaper helping increase their sales and a large percentage of those that owned them turned them into expensive paper weights shortly after the novelty wore off. The 360 and ps4 would actually function as a media streamer/DVD/BluRay player so at least their had additional functionality helping them see use even when their primary function ceased.
I own a Wii-U and find the games and graphics and everything to be easily as good as the other systems. I don't play the COD style games but they are available if I did. I can't stand the sheep-like attitude people have with this kind of stuff - "you have to buy this system as it's the best" - just choose which one you want and have done with it.

You can bet your bottom dollar that Intel would want to bid on this - I'm guessing that they did but AMD had something that was better bang for the very limited buck you have with a low end console.
By the way, +1 for those saying that "big and bad ain't it all" wrt gaming. I'd vote for a good game with DX9 graphics over something that that didn't have replay value but was dripping with DX12 goodness. Actually, I'm ashamed to admit to spending more time tablet gaming these days than on the PC.

The problem with Wii-U wasn't the graphics, as such, it was the style of games. The fad of flapping around in front of your TV or doing exercises on an over-priced set of scales, was over. Wii-U bet the farm on that fad continuing and did so at the expense of the hardware.....with the fad over, you are left with hardware that was under-performing when it came to porting titles, leaving a small catalogue and very little support.
The market spoke. Loudly.

At the last count the Wii-U was only just behind the xbox one. Both being far behind the ps4.
Also, hardware spec is not important in console gaming, every console being the same is.
TBH most wii-u owners don't give a monkey's chuff over ports. They bought one as there are games they want to play.
The Wii-U games are not all like that actually . Yes, there's the usual Mario style games but a lot if not all of them can be played using the 'classic' style controller which is almost the same as the Xbox one.
Nintendo dropped the ball with their marketing, especially in Britain, as everybody just assumed it was a Wii just with better graphics. The gamepad and the quality of the games are still very unique but not all 'arm flappy' style!!

they aimed at a different market segment to the one you're in - the impression I get is that they are geared more towards young families with inclusive entertainment rather than being aimed at pre-pubescent kiddie ranters or adolescents like yourself
I had a Wii back in the day and it was a blast (mostly playing tiger woods and mario kart with my buddies) - also remarkably cheap & easy to chip (yourself) with tons of homebrew available
Intel graphics is improving all the time, but they always had problems with scaling up. I expect they could do a really nice Atom based DS style portable these days, but I don't think they are up to full blown console yet. Give it a few years, perhaps they won't need an expensive embedded ram on the CPU package to just scrape past the performance of an AMD APU, and then they might be in with a shout.
