I hope most of this rubbish can be disabled. I have no use for and certainly don't want Xbox Live or Game DVR. Windows 10 is sounding more like a console OS and get's less appealing for me as these new "features" are announced.
How to Game on Windows 10 -opens up steam and Origin and then launches BF4 and Goat Simulator-
Haven't they said where their heading, Windows everywhere, Windows as a service, and Microsoft as a cloud-first, mobile-first company.
Although how that translates is probably very open to interpretation, my personal take on that is dumbing down to the lowest common denominator, Windows being used as a storefront for extras, and storing personal details on remote servers, but then I'm probably what most people would consider a pessimist.![]()

Use Windows 10 to leverage Xbox sales... It's the Games for Windows program all over again!
Well.... thats one way to get Halo back to PC....
This is just a feature which you use or you don't. This feature does not "make" the OS and is not it's be all and end all. If you don't like sun roofs in cars and a car came along which could sort all your problems and needs better than your old car but happens to have a sun roof? Don't use the sun roof then...PROBLEM SOLVED
If it was my ideal car, I'd agree.
But it's more like my car manufacturer wants me to agree to a 'free' new car, which they reserve the right to change the spec of whenever they want, which at some point they are going to start making money from but refuse to say how, when, how much or from whom, and they won't even make it absolutely clear if I can change my mind some time in the future and go back to my old car. They might also decide to swap round the way the pedals work, because they tried that in a previous car they made.
But hey, great new features. Look at the go-faster stripes, and chromed exhaust extensions.

Thanks Microsoft keep it up!
