Use it for 360 video, but if you want to film video for VR specifically it's going to be pretty pants.
Oh, and framerate will be the dead giveaway. 90fps is the absolute minimum for use with the Oculus CV1 or HTC Vive, 60fps is the absolute minimum for use with current generations of GearVR. For VR video, 24fps or 30fps is totally worthless.
Could you imagine the first Alien film if it was shot for virtual reality.... looking up and down as they go through the vents looking for the alien that finally comes out and grabs you..
